Sealant for leaking metal roof nails
The home we purchased has an older pole barn that has nailed roof panels. They are old and some are leaking. Not visibly but the vapor barrier has some pools that can be seen from inside. It will need a new roof eventually but as a stop gap measure I want to seal the roof nails (about 2000). The most appropriate product I can find is a polyurethane product by Loctite https://www.amazon.com/Loctite-Polyurethane-Construction-Cartridge-1390595/dp/B001E3VQBE/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8&th=1
Replacing the nails with screws is out of the question and way too much work for a old roof. wondered if anyone has done the same thing.

I use generic wet and dry roof sealant, with big playtex gloves and putty knife. for shingles too.

I was considering having the roof recoated but decided not worth the money since the roof is probably 50 years old and about 2000 ft sq. There are a few rusty areas. We are about .5 mi from the ocean so there is some salt. I'm amazed it lasted this long.
