Sealant for leaking metal roof nails

The home we purchased has an older pole barn that has nailed roof panels. They are old and some are leaking. Not visibly but the vapor barrier has some pools that can be seen from inside. It will need a new roof eventually but as a stop gap measure I want to seal the roof nails (about 2000). The most appropriate product I can find is a polyurethane product by Loctite https://www.amazon.com/Loctite-Polyurethane-Construction-Cartridge-1390595/dp/B001E3VQBE/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8&th=1
Replacing the nails with screws is out of the question and way too much work for a old roof. wondered if anyone has done the same thing.
