I have also been curious to throw my bike carrier on. I found this:

https://www.etrailer.com/hitch-2010_Mercedes-Benz_E-Class.htm

bottom listings are coupe and convertible. It is unclear to me if there is a 4matic/rwd distinction though, Id probably want to confirm before buying. I have ordered from etrailer before and they are reputable.

Where are the photos of your new car?

Have you discovered the spare, or, lack thereof?

A 'frame hitch" will likely be a unibody' hitch. Done right, they're robust and immovable. (I had one crafted and installed on my 83 300SD...)

I'd probably do so. It'd depend on the method used by the car to guage it. As changing full-syn based on time alone, certainly isn't necessary...

IIRC, the interval in miles on the 99 E300 I owned was 15K.
If using full-syn, a 150K or 10 year warranty was retroactively applied to each engine of 99 E300s, and other FCCs of tgat era. A magnificent deal!

Gives you an idea ^^^ of just HOW premium full-syn is!

The stealth hitches are generally designed to go around/beneath but I haven't used one myself.

Do you have a photo of the rear-end of your car to post-up?

OK, now I saw what a 550e 2010 looks like.

That's not gonna be a problem for a craftsman hitch shop.

Run it by a Corporate UHaul store, or a franchise UHaul store, and see what they say.

Next, find an indy hitch specialist.
The hitch specialist is who I went with. Fair price. Extremely well mounted to the unibody of my 83 300SD.
