Idiot doing donuts on my street smashed my 66

Got woke up Friday night by my Neighbor . His daughter watched an idiot kid in the apartments do donuts at the 4 way stop , lose control and plow the side of my 66 f250. He quickly fled, but we knew exactly where to find him and
I had plenty of video. Cops found him and the car, he admitted guilt and was issued a misdemeanor and a stack of tickets . I’ve got to get a copy of the police report tomorrow and get
With insurance.

I know they are going to try to total it . Unfortunately hagarty wouldn’t cover me as I do not have a garage to keep it in.

Thinking legal counsel may be my best bet .

What do that have experienced this think?

Sorry to hear about this. I hate this sort of thing. Also I was unaware we could upload vids here, you might have to link it from somewhere else, like utube.

Could have been towed behind a motor home. Did you fix that flat tire on your house yet?

I wrote this on my phone and didn't do a very good job.

I live in a house in a generally quiet neighborhood. There is a block of section 8 apartments down the road. That's generally where all of our trouble comes from.

I had my 66 parked on the street in front of my work truck. The kid was doing donuts in the 4 way stop a couple houses down. Lost control, almost ended up in my neighbors yard across the street and overcorrected. Ended up plowing my 66.

Kid has " The general" insurance, so I know they aren't going to cover a thing.
I do not want to total this truck out. It was bought new by my great uncle and passed to my dad. I got it when dad passed.

Your truck is worth A LOT of money as is. Like GOLD!
Ya should secure better parking so it doesn't get stolen. That is a GEM!

I often keep it in my side yard. None of the houses in my neighborhood have garages. Its generally a quiet neighborhood, but we get new issues that pop up here and there from the section 8 apartments down the road.

Well, his insurance has approved me to move forward on my claim. I need to get it to a body shop that specializes in old iron. We shall see.
