How much is a burnout worth?

There was a guy on our street doing burnouts and donuts with his e class. He did like one or two and then we asked him to do it a couple of more times. He said he'd do it a few more times if we payed him $100 for tire wear. How much is a donut and 1 burnout worth in tire wear?

Lemme see, I'd charge my hourly rate $100/hr. I'll be nice so no minimum that'd be $25 for 15 minutes then. Then I'll have to prorate the cost of my tire, right now they have 75% thread left, around 100 bucks a tire, so they're worth $75 right now. Assuming a burnout scrubs 20% off everytime, that would be $15. Add to that the brakepads... hmm. Oh wtf, $100!

Factor in another couple grand ($$$$ ) for rebuilding the transmission...maybe even another $500 for towing after the tranny drops to the ground!

Chances are he is dropping shifts in order to do the burnouts, and that just punishes the transmission.

He needs to go find some other sort of amusement...

I did go to a tire burnout competition at the drag strip one year...the winner actually melted the entire set of rears down to the rim!!!

Was one tire spinning or both?

If it was only one tire, you may as well add a rear differential to the price. The diff is not desinged for that kind of repeated abuse, its just a matter of time before it will wear out.

They are "free" at your local dragstrip.

BenzOnline: nice pic of the new E500, but I see it is the guy on foot who has got the girl...

Maybe he could win her over with a big burn out?!

The joy a burnout gives is worth it I tore the old back tires up on the bmw no problem (spring were sagging and tires were near bald inside)
If you do a burnout you what can happen your taking the risk. just my 2 cents
