Mercedes 450 SLC?
Hi, I saw this car.. a brown/beige Mercedes with a 450SLC emblem on the back. I never seen or heard of one... is that real? I thought it would be just 450SL.
Just curious. |

Yep, four people will actually fit quite comfortably in the 450SLC, I've been driven around a few times in the back seat with no problems. Great cars.

Nice... must be a rare car then. The car from the outside is in excellent condition.

The 380SE gets driven all the time in the winter out here in Washington state, and with a couple bags of sand in the trunk and the lightweight (compared to an iron engine) aluminum V-8 in front, the car has a good weight distribution ratio, and gets through the snow quite well.
My dad even drove it (at 35 mph) through 9 inches of snow all the way back from the Tri-Cities (where the Hanford nuclear reservation is) to his home in Wenatchee, WA, and never got stuck. Of course, this was with studded snow tires, not all-seasons. Too bad about Wisconsin road salt eating 450SLCs...I remember cars just getting total leprosy from that stuff when I was a kid and lived in Madison... BTW, there are a good number of rust-free SLCs out here in Seattle that I see, and some do come up for sale from time to time. -Sam |
