Ok... I mentioned this a while back that I was looking for a chrome strip that goes over the top of the front bumper on a w126. The one that I have has several large rust holes and make the car look bad. I finally found a seller that is willing to sell the piece off a 1985 500sel for a price of $75 including shipping(Is that a reasonable price for this piece?).
Anyways, I am sending the payment out today and will hopefully get the piece by the end of this week or early next week.
Now for the part where I will need help from. This will be my first job on the car that I will do by myself. I am looking forward to it
. What I want to know is how do I take the front bumper off. Where do I unscrew any screws that hold it. I know that there are 5 pieces that make up the chrome lining on the bumper, and each piece is held down with a nut and screw. Is there a way where I can go under the bumper and unscrew the piece there or do I have to take the entire assembly off and work from there?
I would appreciate any detailed instructions on completing this task. sorry for the long post... and thanks for any replies I get!
