So, how do I get a pic on the internet so that it has a URL. I don't have my own home page or anything.

You need to upload it from your computer to a server like www.villagephotos.com then copy the url into your signature and surround it with [IMG] (/IMG) subsititute [ ] for ( ) on the later tag. If I complete the tag it while think I am trying to post a picture.

ok here gos,

For the ones who have no space to place your pics : if you an internet provider, you probably have space that you don't know about. Ask the provider if you have free webspace (you'll probably have 3 to 5 meg of space) that is a lot of space, more than enough to store your pics. Call them, there will happy to tell you how to get the pics up.

Pic size and resolution : lower priced dig. cams. (under $1000) have a fix res. of 72ppi wich is what you need for the web, the thing to whatch here is the size and quality, always thake the best and bigest you'r camera allows you!
Why? the more pixel you have the better the end product will be after you have edited the pic in a photo editing program like, let say "photoshop".

Editing : final size should be ap. 300x200pixel or banner size ap. 400x 100pixel. The best way to achive this is to use the CROP tool > clik the fixed size box (someware) enter the size and resolution then drage it over the part of the image that you like and voila! You will notice the the box that the tool will create as a fixe ratio to it, you can move/resize that box as you wish.

Almost forgot : save you'r pic as a copy and choose JPG at medium quality.

Good luck

DAN
