You stepped up to the plate I respect that in a person. It's our differences that make our country great, the melting pot of ideas. Somehow we manage to find the middle and this is why democracy is great. Because you step up you can flame me anytime

rsbiomedical, suginami,

Very legitimate points, I agree completely. But I don't get my feathers ruffled when someone insults me during a debate. I just view such behavior as evidence that they really have no substance to their argument, and cannot back themselves up with facts, so when you say something they didn't want to hear, they resort to insults. When that happens, I win.

Oh, well if you insist on always having the last word on things, bring some more stuff up that we can argue about. I'm sure we could extend this thread to infinity re: liberal versus conservative ideologies.

That was me, and I take full responsibility for my views and starting the thread. And I'm not "hiding", either.

Anyway, like Jason said, the thread has pretty much been exhausted, unless someone wants to get a few last words in.

About getting the last word in...

Reminds me of my little miniature dachshund, Pee Wee. When she barks at a noise from outside, I tell her to be quiet. She stops barking, but as soon as I turn my head away, she always has to get the last "ruff" in.

I can never win.

Yeah, it's a funny name. Her name was originally Peanuts, but she was sooooooo small when we got her at 8 weeks old, that I ended up nicknaming her Pee Wee, and the name stuck.

I had mainly beagles growing up, and they were great dogs, especially for young kids, but this little dachshund is the best dog I've ever had. She's practically a genuis. She learns everything with just one repitition. She even understands English. I sweat it.

When we got our pups one was crazy and the other very quiet and reserved. Their names became: Nut-nut, & Swea-Pea. Talk about kooky...When my parents visited, my Mom said, " You named your dogs WHAT?".

They are great dogs, half lab, half Australian shep.. Sounds like your's is probably better trained than ours though.

I also call Pee Wee, "Sweat Pea" half the time, anyway.

I say she's a genius, but her quickness at learning what I want her to do might be due to her desire to please me. She's very keyed into my face, and she's always looking at me for reassurance, trying to figure out what I want her to do. It's uncanny.

My neighbor across the street also has a half German Shepherd, half Australian sheepdog. It looks more sheepdog that German Shepherd. It's a very sweet dog, but very skittish. They got him at the pound, and must've been abused before they got him.
