whats up with my computer monitor???
Lately, i've been noticing that my computer monitor will kind of flicker. Not necessarily in the sense of turning off and on, but rather have a white line come across dead center and kind of "wave out". But really, really fast. In other words, if i blinked my eyes at the exact same time i would miss it. Should i back down my resolution or pixels? thanks,
R

try checkign the adapter refresh rate.
Also try seeing if you have specific monitor drivers for your monitor, update your video drivers if necessary, and see if that works. Sometimes whent he display adapter refresh rate is set to optimal, it can cause screen flickering like you descrbed and screen vibrating. Setting it to adapter default can sometimes solve the problem, and is a good thing to try first before anything else. Alon

thanks for the quick reply ashman. I tried what you mentioned, and the default setting made my monitor really messed up and trippy to look at. it was blinking constantly. I then set it back to optimal. It's not a constant thing, it's only randomly that it will do this. Because of that reason i kind of dismissed refresh rate in my head, but i have been wrong once or twice before... I have the latest and greatest drivers for both my monitor (AOC spectrum 7GLR) and for my video card, voodoo 3 2000 PCI(i know i know, it's crap....) any other thoughts??
thanks Ryan

i should probably say that the flicker is much much differant than for example the "degouse"(spelling) function....

I don’t quite get a pix from your description but my guess would be that the flicker is due to a minor short or a wire insulation failure in the high voltage transformer (fairly common now a days).

Maybe you have a power transformer/light/speaker near to it? Any of these can cause this. Try turning off nearby electrical stuff.
