OK Tracy, you've earned some respect back I've really only recently been turned on to Tull (not really my generation, though I've heard other Ian Anderson stuff), and I'm really enjoying the "folksier" material.

As for Lunasa, they're a five-man group, lots of fiddle, flute, and whistles with some double bass and Bodhran (Irish drum) thrown in. Very cool stuff if you're into it. I've never been able to find good, traditional Celtic folk music myself either, and never knew who were the 'good bands' to ask for. Although there's plenty of new-age, fusion-type stuff out now, that's not really my bag. I recently made a friend who plays the Irish flute and is a treasure trove for the traditional Irish/Scottish stuff.

Send me an email, and I'd be happy to pass along titles/names of several other of my buddie's CD's I'm currently listening to.

Regards,
- Ryan

Heheh, naw you're right, Tull is timeless (and whose appreciation is not indicative of one's generation ) , an incredible combination of very talented muscians - just the kind of stuff I like! btw 'my generation' specifically meant that I strongly identify with what's come to be known as the "seattle sound" of the 90's.

I haven't personally seen Lunasa in a local music store, but haven't looked for them either. I did find them easily on amazon, but can't post the link for some reason.

The disc I'm listening to now is The Merry Sisters of Fate which as I said, is excellent if you like traditional Irish folk music.

Regards,
- Ryan

Milli Vanilli?? This is a joke, right? ...the same duo who were busted for lip-synching their live performances...?

Hmm

Updated list..

Kraftwerk (German electronic pioneers)
the Prodigy (British techno/rock/dance)
Front 242 (Belgian Industrial)
Einsturzende Neubauten (My favorite, German industrial pioneers)
Funker Vogt (German Industrial/Dance)
Depeche Mode (British Electronica you could say..?)
Rammstein (Newer German Industrial)
Lunatic Calm (British Trance/Dance)
Group X (Funny Arabic rap group, sort of a joke)
Powerman 5000 (American metal/industrial)
Static-X (American heavy metal)
Sepultura (Brazilian death metal...friend gave me the CD..not a big fan)
The Streets (British Rap/Dance...really good rapping and rhyme)
Various Classical (Schumann, Beethoven, Chopin, Bach, Stravinsky, Wagner)

Lets just say the ladies get a little weirded out when singing along to Kraftwerk "Trans Europe Express"

"In Vienna We Sit in A Late Night Cafe
Straight Connection, T.E.E"

I love Kraftwerk

Or even more scared when singing Neubauten..

"All I really really really really really want to see is a total eclipse of the sun..."

Neubauten is such a grand group
