Cell Phone Question
OK guys.. I have went to see some phone boards but they don't seem to answer my question on picking a phone. I have decided on picking one of the following 2 phones provided by T-mobile.
Samsung s105 and the Sony-Erickson T68i w/ blue tooth Which would choose from these 2 and the price is not an issue between these 2. I am looking for a good world tri-band phone with SMS capabilities that I can use over-seas in Europe with no problem as well as here in the US. Laters ![]() |

the eriksson is very nice. you can get a little keyboard, and it has tons of features.
My friend had it, but traded up to the nokia communicator. Anyway, the eriksoon is a nice phone Alon

so you recommend the ericcson t68i? I have never seen it in person, but I did see the Samsung. I am currently favoring the samsung one, but wouldn't mind going with the T68i. If the samsung would have voice-dialing.. then it would be my pick, but unfortunately it doesnt

If you want a good, durable triband phone, skip the Sony and Samsung made-for-the-minute stuff and get a Bosch/Siemens S40 instead.
I say "Bosch/Siemens" because it is actually a Bosch design, but Siemens bought Bosch's handset division and sells it under the Siemens name now. The only downside to its heritage is that the accessories that are coming out for Siemens-developed phones are not compatible with the S40. I'm using mine on T-Mobile's network in Atlanta, and I love it. I've also used it on other continents. Hergestellt in Deutschland, of course. Where to get it? I bought mine in Austria, but I've seen them on eBay and in a local shop here in ATL. When was the last time you saw a Sony anything -- except for their ES audio equipment, which is quite well-made -- that lasted more than a couple years? Compare that to the amount of Bosch and Siemens stuff built ages ago that's still kicking around. That little pointer-thingy on the T68i you'll be lucky to keep intact for 8 months, I think. |

I have checked into the S40.. but I don't like its looks. I went ahead and ordered the Samsung S105. It has a way better screen than the T68i. Only drawback I found is.. the "bluetooth" thing.. whatever it is. I won't be using that at all.. so why have a luxury item that you won't use or know how to use?
Also.. the sounds i understand are far superior on the samsung. With a flip phone.. i won't have to worry about damaging my screen. I went ahead and ordered my phone. Thanks guys... it was a tough decision, but I think I will be happy w/ my 1st phone ![]() |

Check with users on both sides of the pond!
Make sure the phone you are considering works well on both the Euro and the US systems. Just now a NOK model is being pulled off the shelf by T-mob as it is having probs on the T-mob system in europe (in the news on cbsmarketwatch).
