Question What does your desktop look like?

What does YOUR current desktop look like? Mine changes at least once a week, but here it is right now...

I hit the "print screen" button. This copies it to the clipboard. Then go to paint and paste it in there. Then I save it a a .jpg. YOu might need to shirnk it down like I did.

Ok, I don't see a print screen button and it looks like you use XP. I have XP too and can't find a print screen button.
It's on your keyboard, if you have one, usually above the cursor keys and "home", "end", ect keys.
And you may have to use the "Ctrl" key at the same time for it to actually work.

Ok thanks Rick, I found that button, pushing it does nothing and pushing ctrl and print screen does nothing.
When I push print screen, nothing looks like it happens. Try going to paint and pasting. I bet it is there, it just doesn't give you any sign that it was copied there

Yes. Open Paint, and go to the EDIT menu, and click on Paste. It should then "paste" the image onto the blank page. Then you can do a "save as" to a folder somewhere, where ever, and save as a .jpg with whatever you want to call it (screen.jpg). Only problem with Paint is it's harder to properly scale down the image as Volkl42 said to do. If you have a different photo software program, may be easier to use that. (Maybe the other guys can help you more with Paint. I rarely ever use it)

the clipboard is just a temporary work area were objects go when you perform a copy operation. hitting print scrn makes a copy of your desktop as a bitmap and puts it on the clipboard. you can then paste it to any application (such as paint) that will accept pasting a bitmap.

-hit print scrn
-bring up paint
-click on edit, paste

Hey Volk you wanna do Remote Assistance?
What's remote assistance? And unless I can do it from class, I'm afraid I can't help, sorry. Believe me, I'd rather be sitting in front of the computer, but I am off to "Empirical Political Research Methods"

By the tilted engine, if it's a Benz, Id have to say one of the origional style 300SL's. That's the only Benz I'm aware of that tilted the engine like that.
Aw...Bill beat me to it!:p

That is it Bill - good job.
There was a Gullwing on ebay not too long ago and I kinda helped myself to the pictures. It makes a pretty unique screen saver and none of the folks I work with have a clue what it is - they are used to those bow tie engines.
