Calling all Geeks: 123 Cruise Control Rebuild Kits?
Are there any electronic whizzes (sorry about the geek comment) out there who have rebuilt the cruise control amps from a 123 or similar diesel?
I ask because I just had one done for $125 bucks, which was reasonable, and I wanted to try to do another one myself. I took apart my recently repaired one and noticed a total of about five or six common electronic components were replaced. That's it. Since I have an extra, I'm willing to experiment. Although I've done electrical repairs with solder before, I know nothing about identifying the correct components. One thing I do know is that even if I replaced every resistor, diode, capacitor, etc. in on the circuit board, it would still cost me peanuts compared to shelling out another $125. So, the million dollar question is: does anyone have a parts list or know of a kit to rebuild this thing? If I can order the parts, I can replace them easily enough.
