Do you use foam or electric???
Been using electric shavers for years and just upgraded to the newest Norelco. This thing is the Benz of shavers. Just does a fantastic job in a minute or less. Can't see why anyone would still cut themselves to shreds when tools like this exist.

I'm still using blades (Mach 3) because I never had a good experience with electric. Some of them left me looking like I hadn't shaved at all. I have been thinking about the new Norelco. Is it really that good?

This thing is unreal, and you clean it by holding it under the faucet. It will probably save the average person 5 hours time over a year. More time to drive the Benzes.

yup, never got an electric to work either, or if it did results were marginal at best. I think you need a really hard beard for them to work well. Plus, like hand washing the car, I love the ritual of a wet shave: lots of steamy, hot water, rich lather, a few surgeon-steady swipes, and I feel like James Bond ready for a dinner party...
I do however, have a Wahl beard trimmer for my goatee - I've tried several different brands of beard trimmers, and have found the wahl to be the sturdiest one yet. Regards, - Ryan

I have the new nerelco (my bro bought it for my birthday). it's the beige one, and it cleans under a faucet too, and it has produced the smoothest shave I have ever had. No cuts or anything... it's truly amazing. Apparently, if you don't use an electric before, it will take about a month for your face to adjust to it, but after that month, it's the best thing you could have.

Mach 3 is the best shave from I blade I ever got (attention: poster may own shares in Gillette Corp) but it is still not as good as I would like. If this Norelco is as good as you guys say I think I will give it a shot, keeping in ming it may take a month for my face to adjust to it. Is there a particular model name or number and is it the same one James Bond used in his latest movie?

Are you sure about this one month rule and does Norelco offer a money back guarantee?
I hate shaving and would love the convenience but every time I've tried an electric I remain with a 5 O Clock Shaddow! For now it's the MachIII Turbo.

I think there is a money back guarentee... I can't find the pamphlet right now. I could look on the website and find out though, I'm 80% sure.

I use a mach 3 turbo with the gillete series gel. Works great, and I rarely cut myself.
I have a norelco electric, which works quite well for those days when I just dont have time to shave at the sink. I can grab the electric and go. Alon

I've never used a blade for shaving; in fact, I don't even know how
I've had a Norelco tri-circular shaver for years...I just got a Braun unit for Christmas; one of those ones that has a stand that also cleans the shaver for 15 minutes. My face is still getting used to it (for another week or so, hopefully), but it's doing a good job thus far. I like the self-clean ability, and the Norelco's battery was dying anyways... |

I have always used an electric.
I find if I use a razor it cuts my hair in a way that it curls back into the skin in a few places. So why are some of my beard hairs curly and none of my other hairs are???? I bought a Braun when I was in Germany and really liked it. For X-mas my wife got me the top of the line Braun http://www.braun.com/na/products/shavinggrooming/dryshaving/dryshaving/syncrosystem.html A really nice shaver, but it did not cut my beard very well. the size of the foil holes were to small to allow my beard to get into the head to be cut. I tried to make it work for 9 months. I bought a Braun for my son http://www.braun.com/na/products/shavinggrooming/dryshaving/dryshaving/interface.html He liked it and I tried it. It cut my beard faster and closer than the top of the line model. I called Braun and asked if they would sway the top of the line model for the cheaper one since it was to long to return it. They sent me the new razor and a couple of foil/blade replacements. I wish Mercedes was as nice as Braun. Dave

Three bladed rotoray lawn mower!
Norelco has been my weapon of choice. Though on really important days I will resort to a tripple edge wall scraper. The wall scraper provides a better shave though some spots are shaved to the epidermal level!
I wonder if those powder things instead of shaving really work. Any one try them? Once during the sophomoronic days at a wild and wooley pajama party some girls had put nair on a fellows beard while he was sloshedout- what a mess that was, though his skin was aok the next day. Before the incident he was known about campus as forest face! He had to trim and shave off his beard, we couldn't recognize him! so he grew his beard back but kept it trimmed. |
