Hey...hey...hey...

"the oldest and wisest man could still burn his finger on a candle's flame...stub his toe in the middle of the night whilst venturing to pee...etc. etc. etc." mushedroom

I am older (maybe not necessarily wiser) but I've never burned my finger on a candle's flame or stubbed my toes while venturing to pee i the middle of the night.

My house has electric lights and my prostrate has not yet swelled to the point where it requires me to make frequent visits to the potty room.

TXBILL post, not mine

TX BILL, your post was acting up (Board problem) and I had to edit it and repost it myself.

O K, so, you're either the same age as Alon, or you're not. Alon's been around a lot longer too. I mean, around here, he has the feel for what happens here. When he is wrong and gets called on it he does not just close the thread. He has a lot of qualities that I don't find in you. Maybe you'll get better, but so far I don't see it. Personal opinion once again.

txbill, why do you take things personally when 1) this is the internet and I don't know you 2) the matter wasn't involving you.

BUT if you really want to know why I closed the "geled thread," it was due to members flaming me, threatening me and demanding I post an apology. I don't have to apologize to anyone for anything.

And like I said so many times, let's all chill out and ease up on the accusation and all the bickering.

hahahahaahahahahah
that's so hilarious....
presently me and all my friends talk about girls, cars, gadgets...etc.
i wonder when i'm old and grey if prostate swelling is going to be number one on the list of things to talk about on the park bench during a pigeon feeding and chess tournament....heheheheheeheh
woo hoo...hope you don't stub your toe in the middle of the night whilst venturing to pee, cause... 1...it hurts...2....makes you curse cuss and scream silently in the darknes...3...makes you want to pee on the spot...and 4...makes you limp and hobble for the rest of your exploring in the dark....

With that said, I was very tempted this afternoon to PM Alon or the DR and recommend locking my own thread, an action I NEVER thought I would ponder. Someone was behaving in a manner that I cannot characterize without starting a flame and as such, was working against the premise of the thread. It was excessive by any reasonable standard.

I have a professional background in a field where survival often means being the biggest SOB in the room. I can be surly, stubborn, testy and at times, irrational. But I know that such behavior has to be limited, controlled, or I lose credibility. A very few of us are lost on this last point (I am not speaking about anyone who has already posted on this thread.).

Make your point, make it twice, perhaps even three times if you have to. But for the sake of the mental health of those that read your posts, if you sound like a skipping record, back off, take a deep breath, and reconsider your position or approach.
being a big SOB sucks!

Why can't we be friends?
Why can't we be friends?
Why can't we be friends?
Why can't we be friends?

I seen you 'round for a long long time
I really 'membered you when you drink my wine

Why can't we be friends?
Why can't we be friends?
Why can't we be friends?
Why can't we be friends?

I seen you walkin' down in Chinatown
I called you but you could not look around

Why can't we be friends?

Why can't we be friends?
Why can't we be friends?

I bring my money to the welfare line
I see you standing in it every time

Why can't we be friends?
Why can't we be friends?
Why can't we be friends?
Why can't we be friends?

The color of your skin don't matter to me
As long as we can live in harmony

Why can't we be friends?
Why can't we be friends?
Why can't we be friends?
Why can't we be friends?

I'd kinda like to be the President
so I can show you how your money's spent

Why can't we be friends?
Why can't we be friends?
Why can't we be friends?
Why can't we be friends?

Sometimes I don't speak too bright
but yet I know what I'm talking about

Why can't we be friends?
Why can't we be friends?
Why can't we be friends?
Why can't we be friends?

I know you're working for the CIA
they wouldn't have you in the Mafia

Why can't we be friends?
