Thread back up? I'm at 194,000km's now (121,000 miles) and not much since the last time this was up. Some emissions valve needed replacing a few weeks ago.

Around Christmas time did the engine mounts, replaced the driver's side mirror glass as the heating unit failed, and installed a new Interstate battery.

I love the car for it's solid structure and economical driving, but driving my wife's Subaru this morning during the massive storm we're having here, I'm seriously considering selling 'er and fetching a Forester. In bad conditions, there is just no comparision...

I wouldn't fault you for that. I've driven my share of late eighties GL wagons, and newer Outbacks and Foresters, and I really like Subarus. And the engines seem to last and last and last.

we sold our 95 to my covetous parents a year ago. It had 70,000 mi. on the clock. We never had a problem with it......unlike our current 3 series Beemer.

I've got 75,600 miles on the clock as of this weekend. Still a baby, huh?

Repairs/major maintenance:
Rear axle seal; rear brake pads; 2 new tires -- all done when I bought the car at ~58K miles in July, 2004
A/C compressor
Set of spark plugs
Right headlight lens
Front brake job -- rotors and pads -- at 74K
Rear brake pads, due to squeaking, after only 17K miles (I guess the stop-and-go driving I did to escape Katrina took its toll)
And the usual filter and oil changes, which I do myself, and brake fluid replacement in Spring 2005

Like Blackmercedes' car, mine is closing in on a decade of service and still looks and feels practically new.

Too bad you weren't so far away. I'd be interested in buying that for my wife if you were closer (and decided to sell of course.)

Can't speak for myself personally, but my father has a '97 C230 with around 150,000 miles on it, and my mom a '00 C230 with around 130,000 miles.

I know its an old thread, but its worth mentioning as I now have 243K on my 96 C280 Sport. Its been a great car and I wish I could find a worthy replacment.

there isnt a replacement ...

I have driven the w203 and the w204 and the interior trim quality is worse than the w202 I think. Climate control design is worse, things like residual heating is now an option not standard? Power seats, an option? Cheap feeling window buttons and nobs placed on the door instead of the logical position by the shifter? Gone are the rear folding headrests by the push of a button, now you have to go to the back to put them down. A 2011 Mercedes without rear side airbags? Really? Its just seems like Toyota in wolfs clothing, as the actual things that make it a Mercedes were removed. I wantt a real German small sedan, not one relying on the history of the three pointed star to fool people into believing they are what they say they are. I don't think we will see a single w203 or 204 with the miles a 202 has racked up.( Just my opinion)

Well, you could go to a newer W202, or go to a W211
