I had post a detail list before, but fellow member "Sixto" pointed out that it's a dead link now.... So I decided to write another one.... It's not finished yet, but I will post what I have so far..... There are slight differences between Canadian-Spec and US-Spec W140 in equipments, so if any one has anything to add, please PM me and/or email me @ akry@hotmail.com

NOTE: It seems that US-Spec S600 Sedan has Xenon STD, but Parktronic Optional. Yet, Canadian-Spec has Parktronic STD and Xenon Optional. ALL Canadian-Spec W140/C140 has Heated Front Seats STD. ALL S500 and S600 has Rear Heated Seat STD. Also, it seems Canadian-Spec LWB W140 never had Rear Auto-Leveling as option. Only US-Spec has this option available.

1997, 1998 are basically the same as 1999... I will fill in the blank later....

Akry, that list is great. A question for you; do you know how many w140s were sold in Canada by year/ or model? I have emailed MB Canada several times, their server acknowledges receipt of the email, but they never reply. According to an MB dealer, the list in Canada for a '93 600sel (at the time) was $181,000 cdn and if I remember correctly the '93 sl600 list was $165,000 cdn (I'll go digging and see if I can find that price list for you, it had the list prices for that year.) The MB dealer also indicates that the 600 sedans are rarer than the sl 600 models. I'm curious as to what the actual sales by year were for each model.

Interesting enough, I asked the same question about it a while ago... MB Canada seems to be a bit uptight about it.... And wont' spill the beans..... But I bet it's some where around 100 - 150 units a year... OR less.... I will try dig up more and see what I can find......

Great list! Very helpful, especially since I am in the market for one. However, a few things that I have found out include:

1) '97-'99 S500 sedan xenons were standard.

2) In '98 the tan interior dash color was changed. If you look at the tan interior of a 97 vs 98 you will notice that the top part of the dash is much lighter and more closely matches the color or the seats.

Question:

Why don't the coupes have rear heated seats?

Interesting.... I will compile the list and have it post ASAP....

For Xenon headlights, Xenon was standard on S500/S600 COUPE, from 1997 - 1999... But Coupe was renamed to CL500/CL600 in 1998.....

Also, early W140 has black dash and steering wheel, as well as part of the door panels in black when you get beige or brown leather.....Can't remember exactly when they have started putting color-matched dash/steering wheel... But I sure will try to find out and add it to the list...
