Talking Hilarious

I know... people have been taught not to laugh at other's expence, but this is a little hard to hold back.

U.S. President George W. Bush (news - web sites) is pictured in this combo image falling off a Segway personal transporter on the front driveway of his parents' summer home June 12, 2003 in Kennebunkport, Maine. Bush arrived from Washington to spend the weekend with his father, former President George Bush, who celebrates his 79th birthday today and his mother Barbara. Bush was not injured in the fall. REUTERS/Jim Bourg

BTW... aren't those segways designed so that the occupant does not fall off? I wonder if he was trying to do a "look.. no hands" stunt.

Have you ever ridden one?

I haven't and have no idea how difficult they are to get the hang of, so I don't find the pictures to be anything more than a shot of somebody trying something new, and not quite getting it right - not exactly funny.

I agree with Diesel Power and Frank X. Ain't it interesting that libereals call conservatives mean spirited. Hey, at least Bush still had his pants on!

The other funny part is that George Sr. and Barbara managed just fine. Did Gerald Ford demo one?

Hee hee

Nothing funny THERE . What was funny though was watching Hill Billy Clinton sqirm in front of the Grand Jury and watching him sqirm while ''trying'' to explain that ''oral sex'' wasn't really sex . Now that was FUNNY ! In fact I'm still laughing !

Thats right everyone.. I am a "liberal", if you only knew

One thing one must keep in mind on this forum is not to mess with Bush, Jr.

Perhaps if it was Clinton that was falling, then it would be funny? I would think that would be hilarious, too.

Bill, Bush, Bush II, who cares? You yanks have no sense of humour. Come to Canada! No one is beyond the scathing reach of our humour. We figure that if you decide to become a public figure, then we have the right, no, the obligation, to laugh at you at every chance we get. We laugh at ourselves and everyone else on the planet.

This is funny! I'd howl no matter which pres did it, Bush, Clinton, Carter, who cares!

The irony is that this thing is supposed "idiot proof" which seems to be proven wrong.

What wouldn't be funny though if that Al Gore was president . After all he invented the ''internet'' . Sorry to be such a buzz kill ...

I don't know if it really fits in here, and don't kill me, but I'm pretty much Pro-Communism. I just find that although people don't get much say in government, nobody goes hungry and everybody has a job, whereas in a lot of democratic countries people starve to death because they have no food, no money, and no job. In the richer countries, Democracy might work better, but then it becomes Capitalism and everything is run by the big corporations, which is once again kind of bordering on Communism/Fascism. That's my thought for the day.

Like in, say, North Korea? Where a few hundred thousand people starved to death in the late '90's? While in South Korea, where the people, topography, weather, etc. were the same, one of the world's most successful economies was built? Yep, score another victory for the world's only remaining true communist state.

The two large nations that adopted "real" communism in the last century were the Soviet Union and China. By no coincidence, they were the two large nations that suffered famines killing tens of millions of their populations (the great famines - i.e. Kulak extermination - of the '20s and '30s in the S.U., and the Great Leap Forward in the '50s in China). Again by no coincidence, these were the two large 20th century famines brought on, and then exacerbated, by government policies.

Before you fall too much in love with Communism, have a chat with people who lived under that system. You'll find that while millions of people risked their lives to escape communist countries, not a whole lot of capitalist subjects moved there. Me, I'll take my chances with the evil, rapacious corporations that dominate my daily existence.

Hmmm, that seems to make a lot of sense. And you're probably right, but I originally come from Poland, and when my parents were young it was Communist and they always had food and a job. Now it's just...

I didn't think about Korea, which is my fault. But then again, the US, being the democratic country it is, is killing people in other countries. Of course, the people it's killing are fighing back, but there's a lot we don't know about countries just because the government doesn't want us to know, and that goes for every country. In the end, the government just plain... sucks.

Before I forget, look at Russia now. A while ago (not sure how long) an officer in the army was caught selling weapons so that he could eat. It's just madness in the world.

I will tell you something that everybody knows . A vote cast for a Libertarian or Independant candidate is throwing your vote away . The U.S. is a two party nation , with two other small faction groups , Libertarian and Independant . Just playing the percentage numbers game , any vote cast other than for a Republican or Democratic candidate just draws strength from these two . Libertarian and Independants just don't have the strength to even come anywhere close . Some Republicans decided to ''make a statement'' in the George Bush Sr. race for President against Clinton . That in turned weakened the Republicans enough for Clinton to win . When I ask most Democrats why they are Democrats or what are the ''basic tenants'' or differences between Democrats and Republicans they say that is how their family had a history of voting but had no idea what the parties stood for . SAD and bad for the U.S. I am a proud working Republican man that wants little government intervention , low taxes and does not need Welfare or food stamps and never have . Investigate the basic principles of being a Republican and you Democrats might discover that is how working people feel . We work hard for our money and would like to keep it . PERIOD !
