What price to sell my 300 SD for? (blown tranny)

This is the topic I never wanted to post, but sadly the tranny in my 81 300 SD went, and instead of putting the money into another transmission and the install, and the bunch of other little problems here and there, I am going to look for another mercedes. I just was wondering what I should price my car at?

81 300 SD
Black, needs a paintjob
Body isn't perfect, a few large dents
New BF Goodrich tires (less than 4,000 miles on them)
Dark Brown MB-Tex, 1 tear on the driver's seat, rest of the seats are in good shape.
Center armrest broken
Power antenna doesn't work
Blower motor doesn't work
Like I said, tranny is blown.
280,000 miles on the engine
It did drive well, handled nice and strong.

Picture is before I painted the grill black

Hi Phil,

Sorry, don't know about the car but....

I see you're from Shamokin PA. Small world. My ex-girlfriend's mother is from that little town!

Nice area. Look out for the sink holes!!

You may want to look into putting a salvage yard trans in it. It very hard to sell a car that doesn't move. Most would think if you won't fix it the cars not worth fixin.
Make sense?

Sflori yeah it's a nice area if you like coal, coal, and more coal lol.

Rdanz I understand, but as for fixing it up, I don't have the time to get the transmission fixed or want to invest the money in a large project like that.

Thanks everyone

Part it out! Take off the parts that are good and take the leftovers to the junk yard. Thats what I would do in this case.. as someone said, you won't get much for a non-moving car.
