AMG Wheels on a E320
I have a 98 E320. I was considering putting on 18" AMG wheels with Mich. Piolits. Has anybody done this upgrade on a non AMG E series. I was told by the dealer that the E55 has somewhat different springs and suspension, but the 18" ers will work. It's a great look. Any opinions or suggestions. I would hate to make a purchase only to find that the tires rub or hit the fenders, etc. Thanks

Bruce, I don't know squat about wheels. This is the second picture of your car I've seen and I just had to say that I think that color is beautiful. I've not seen it before, though its kinda like British racing green. It's not a stock color, is it?

Botnst, Thanks, That's one of the many reasons I bought the car. I checked with the Dealers in my area, inquiring about the color. They all stated that they seen very few, one never did, any E320's in that Green. It appears it was offered as a special order. It's a very deep color with great metalic tones.

![]() The wheels are Front: 19x9.5 275/30/19 and Rear: 19x8.5 245/35/19. My car is lowered about 2+ inches using an H&R cupkit, hence I rubbed and had to roll the fenders. With 18's you shouldn't experience rubbing whatsoever at stock height.

I Installed the 18x8x9 w245/275s Mono blocks E55 Take offs with NO Rub on my 2000 W210 I Also lowered the car with H/R springs with one Bump/notch spring pads You Should NOT have any problems with the AMG wheels But I Would recommend rolling the front fenders Just in case! Tire rack rents the tool and You can do it yourself! Its Easy! |

If you are curious as to what you car will look like, go to Tire Rack's website. They have a feature that shows you your car with the selected wheel...
Here it is for your model: http://www.tirerack.com/upgrade_garage/WheelSearch.jsp?&autoMake=Mercedes-Benz&autoModel=E320&autoYear=1998 |
