is this yet another scam?
Someone forwarded to me this email offer for a car they have for sale:
> We are making an offer for your car. The offer will be suitable for some - it will NOT be suitable for others. If it does not fit, or if you have already sold, please ignore this message. It is a one time overture to certain automobile sellers. We can offer MORE THAN YOUR ASKING PRICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and - You Will Get Your Money From the INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE! (This fact alone entices many sellers to do business with us!!!) IF you are filing an income tax return for 2003 IF you are NOT selling because you urgently need money IF you can wait till you file your return to get your money IF you don't mind helping a charitable organization Our program works by executing a 36 or 60 month lease for your car - Then You IMMEDIATELY DONATE THE LEASE AND THE CAR TO OUR CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION!!!! This means you are not donating just a car. You are also donating lease payments that you would have received over the life of the lease!!!! Obviously, the total of the lease payments will be much, MUCH more than the "blue book: value of the car! That's why there are so many leasing companies. How about a 25K tax deduction?? > Seems like there's no risk for the transaction itself but will the IRS buy it? Where do you find a sucker to lease an old car? How can you deduct the asset and depreciation of the asset at the same time? Sixto 95 S420 91 300SE 87 300SDL 83 300SD |
