looks like a nice little car, congrats on the purchase. How do you feel it compares to your benz?? I know the benz is a nicer car, but i dont think my old SD compares to my acura in any way shape or form. Then again a 420E is certainly no old SD,

Yeah it's a nice car!
How it compares to the Benz.. orange and apple comparison I guess.. The M119 V8 is at least twice as smooth and more than twice as powerful as the I4 5SFE motor. The automatic is wonderful to have The Benz is much nicer on long drives (very relaxing, quieter, more comfy driving position) But I think in the city the Celica is just as zippy. It's once the road opens up that the Celica just feels out of breath really quickly. The Celica's more fun to drive because it handles better and it has a manual transmission. You also sit down low and the waistline is higher, the windows are small, the shifter is higher up, etc. A sportier car but it does get tiring... oh somehow I think the Celica's heater heats up much quicker than the E420. The Celica also runs hotter.. and consumes more gas... ![]()

I had two celicias, both early nineties, flip-up headlights. One normally aspirated, one the turbo. The latter was a better car, even for just cruising along - lower gearing, more torque. It also handled much better, particularly on wet roads. Sorry I sold it.
