Should I sell?
My manager at work wants to buy my 126 badly and is only offering $5000 canadian for it. For that money its not worth it for me due to money put into it recently such as paint but then again I sortive want to get another Benz that is different and have been driving this 126 for 4 years now.
I was leaning towards a 94-95 C class such as the C220 but Im worried about regretting it after for some reason plus I find it hard to watch my car leave for good since its been in the family forever. Any suggestions.....

I drove a C220 loaner car for a few days in place of my 300CD W123 Coupe.
I missed the 123 right away! The only cool thing about the C220 was its single wiper (the 123 didnt have it). That was it.

If the car is rust free then why not just keep it. I would rather have buyers remorse than sellers regret.

I got rid of my w126 2.5 years ago because it had developed an engine problem that would have cost too much to fix, and I still miss that car to this day. The E420 is a great car, but lacks the presence of the 420SEL. If there is nothing wrong with your car I would keep it. Also, it is not always a good idea to do this kind of personal transactions with someone you work under. If you sell it and he has a big repair to pay for within a year he may hold it against you.

I second what 420SEL said, my dad was just talking to be about this a couple days when I talked about selling a car to my brother. When you sell something big like this to an aquaintance (sp?), you could have trouble down the road. What if the chain broke right after he bought it?

The C class is not ugly in anyway. Its a small car, good on gas, has a sporty look and handles well and is of a newer design.

keep in mind 5k is a good amount for a 380. The thing I think it would come down to is how bad you want a newer car. When I get annoyed by the BMW I want to sell it so bad, but then when it's running right and I rag on it and the car flys I love it again.
Remeber your never going to get your money back out of a car and if you do you've done damn well in my books. I personally would keep the 126 because I dont like the C very much being a fat kid. Do what you think is best |

Keep it. I agree about selling stuff to people you know and see all the time. Also, I do not think there is any comparison between an S-class and a C-class. The C-class may be newer, but it just won't come close to the beauty and elegance of the w126. If you have just gotten a paint job, which I am sure you spend a lot on, I would keep it for a while.

Ya both cars are hard to compare. I would not neccesarily sell it to my boss though.

I think I might keep it a few more years until I can afford to get even a better model.
