Thank you Al Qaeda
Thank you for reminding us what we are really up against.
Think! Just think about what you could have accomplished if you just gave Nick Berg a nice hot shower and released him! To an international audience, what a stunning exclamation point you could have placed on the Abu Ghraib scandal. But you just couldn't help yourself. Thank you for putting Abu Grahib into perspective and reducing it to what it actually is, a small footnote, in the war on terrorism. Thank you for cutting the legs out from under the left's anti America rants. Now run and hide. glenmore |

They don't. They won't. Their logic, ideals, principles and culture are QUITE alien to our own. Their acts defy comprehension of most Westerners; hence our increasing problems finishing what our leaders have gotten us into. The "fear of Allah" concept won't work for us anymore than it has worked for Isreal for the last 40-50 years.

While the right wing uses this unfortunate man's death as propaganda and delude themselves into thinking it supports their cause, the rest of us are wondering why we have all these civilians running around in a war zone. Bush wants to pretend his way to peace. Maybe if he acts like there isn't a war there, it will go away. In the meantime, we'll watch the missionaries and truck drivers get slaughtered while we "rebuild" Iraq.

Glen, We are all Americans and pro-America, left, right and center. At our core we all want the best for America and its citizens. Just because we do not necessarily agree on what we think is best does not mean that either of us is "anti-american." To suggest otherwise is ignorant. I find it AMAZING that you would thank anyone for their terrorist acts because it supports your political views/party. Nick Berg was not deserving of his fate and for you to thank Al Qaeda for that act is absolutely disgusting. Your post is very telling about your values as an individual. |

Children, must I send you into time-out? Why don't you go outside and play so the grown-ups can talk without all this shrill whining?

VADUDE,
Wasn't it Papa Bush who followed the UN mandate back in the Gulf War and stopped just outside of Baghdad, allowing Hussein to stay in power and be a pain in the ass for 12 years? The whole world knew he was a murdering tyrant, had invaded a soveriegn nation(Kuwait) and was in the possesion of biological weapons. What happened to Papa Bush? It seems like he backed off when he had the deer in his sites. In hindsight, wasn't that a huge mistake? If you could blame everything on Clinton and the Democrats, you can also say that some of the goings on in Iraq now are related to Bush Sr not ignoring a UN Mandate and killing Sadaam then. .02
