Not sure what to do in regards to getting rid of MB stuff

I've got just a pile of stuff in my basement just really cluttering the stuff up. I mean just a "pile" of stuff, not like where you read about people who horde stuff and there is a path through the junk. Plus I don't think most people reading in this forum would consider it junk, just my wife .
Mainly consists of MB literature (manuals, TDM's, training guides (mostly from the 80's and 90's, microfiche, updates that never got installed, tons of that sort of stuff), some good used parts, including some newer stuff that the warranty clerk was supposed to destroy and throw out. I know there is a Xenon headlight for I believe a CLK, for example, and a pair of US headlights for a 107, like new, because the owner went Euro style. OK, so that's what I have.
The wife, as you can probably tell, has been shall we say "nagging" more lately about getting rid of some of it. She's not saying "throwing out", but would like it gone. Added complication: I was just directed towards a person who has a jukebox for sale I kinda like, and of course she is somehow connecting "my junk" with "cash for jukebox purchase".
OK, so I can see the logic there. I've bought things on EBay, but never sold, plus no digital camera; my own EBay experiences are good, but myself I don't seriously consider a sale without a photo. And I can't really justify buying a digital camera.
I'm thinking maybe selling the stuff here in the "Parts" forum. Any suggestions in regards to that? I was thinking just asking for what I feel is a fair price, or maybe would it be better to just state "best offer" and keep updating my original post to reflect what the current best offer is, so I am more or less running my own little auction?
Any thoughts welcome

Gilly

Gilly--I've had good luck on the parts forum, both selling and buying. Just keep your prices low and the stuff will go.

If you have any thing for early 123s or later 126s, I'd be interested. Let me know. I have a 1979 300TD wagon and a 1989 300SE.

I've bought and sold things on ebay and so far everything turned out O.K. Although as you already mentioned a pic is important. Remember "A pic is worth a thousand words". You can find a real cheap digital camera nowadays for anywhere between $20-50 it won't be a "top of the line" camera, but it'll do the job. You could even use those $5-$10 cameras you connect to the computer for chatting.

I've also bought things on this forum and have had good and bad experiences. Don't run it like an auction, that'll turn everyone off. Decide what you would be willing to take and give it to the first person who replies and sends you the money. If the first person who replied doesn't send the money in 1 week, then sell it to the 2nd person who responded. Most of all be HONEST about the part. If something is broken or defective, then say so. That way the buyer will not be disappointed and you won't have any headache about any complaints.

BTW what kind of W124 86' 300E parts do you have?

What's a cam camera? I've heard there are "disposable" digital cameras now.

I'm in kind of a "Catch 22" situation, because I'd really rather get the jukebox than buy a digital camera, but if I would buy a digital camera I'd want a decent one. I think I may try my luck at selling stuff here without a picture. Hopefully everyone, or most everyone here knows I'm a decent guy and wouldn't try ripping someone off.

I'd certainly be honest in the description. It's MOSTLY books and literature that I have, not alot of parts. I'm not sure if the updates (which are bits and pieces of a diagnostic manual or electrical wiring diagram book which replace older info) would be worth all that much, same with the microfiches as most people have no fiche reader available (myself included).

Some of the training manuals are pretty cool, but the ones that I personally got in classes I'll probably hold on to, as I refer to these to help answer questions here.

I do have some engine manuals and introduction to service manuals, some of them are pretty old. And also these little TDM books (Technical Data Manuals) which are also pretty old, have lots of those.

The CLK headlight I have is a Xenon, complete with bulb and igniter, but has an appearance problem, which is why it was replaced under warranty.

But again mostly I have literature. OH! I do have old 140 or 129 phone stuff too (in dash control units!).

Anything for a 300SDL? Or a 1987 W126?

That looks like it'd work. Hopefully alot of this stuff I have is sell-able without a picture, especially the literature stuff. But I'll keep it in mind for the tools and parts. I have a boat-load of old discontinued tools, especially reamers and mandrels, all MB stuff.

Probably an intro to service book and/or maybe an engine manual, I'd have to look. I'll try to look for some of these requests I have, but my thought was to pick a few things out every week. But I really need the money for this jukebox, so like I said, I can try looking for things, then either contact people individually or just post them in the "Parts" forum.

Gilly,
Just use a 35mm film camera and when you develop the pictures have them put them on CD too. You can use a $4 disposable camera to do this...

Thanks for the replies.
I already sold the 107 chassis headlights, believe it or not! Almost 1/2 way to the jukebox, and if I do well enough, my wife says I can buy the new vacuum cleaner she wants! Lucky me! (I may retire from this early!)
I'll try my hand at this over at the parts forum, starting with some MB videos I have a box of, I'll kind of do it in lots, I don't want to sell all of them individually. A few I will because they're cool.
