Well, lets see, who has real knowledge about european cars...
Four questions:
a.) Who build that car? b.) Where is the location of the plant? c.) Which car was the basis for this conversion? d.) What was the most successful project of that company? Kind regards Eberhard |

Looks like a Fiat, but I'm going to guess a Bitter, based on an Opel (Senator?) produced in Switzerland, Bitter GT?

When I get home I'm going to put the picture software on 400% and look at those wheel badges.

The car is a Swiss-built Monteverdi Sierra, which was converted from a Dodge Aspen/Plymouth Volare (seriously). The sports car in the back ground is a Monteverdi Hai, a Swiss limited production exotic with a Chrysler hemi V8, which was the most successful (at least in terms of reputation) of the company's products; they probably sold more of the 375, though, the sedan that came before the Sierra and is sitting to the left in the picture.

that looks so much like a masi a neighbor of mine had in the 60's I'll be amazed if it is something different.

The basis of the conversion is clearly (to me anyway) a W126 sedan.
The styling looks a bit Italian...with an American accent That's all I know. |

It's not a Ferrari, and it definitely not a Quattro. I'm going with Fiat something.
Good thread BTW. the one to the right does look like a quattroport. |

Put me down for the Monteverdi Sierra as well. Made from 1977 to 1982 on the Aspen chassis. Didn't they make an SUV thingy that was thier real success? It's a kinda LR Disco look-alike. Anyone remember the name of it?

You guys amaze me. I don't even know the names of the cars you list, much less whether you're even close.
But you know what I think Toyota did? I think they saw this car and used it to guide the body design of the Cressida. Having said that, I should change my name so you wont know just how blightedly ignorant I am. B |
