Stolen 6.9 Dallas Texas
Some lowlife broke into my garage and stole my 6.9. I am hoping somebody will spot it, these are fairly rare cars. It is a 1977, light blue exterior, dark blue interior. Has faded blue sheepskins on the seats. It has 8 hole, early 90's S class wheels. I just had the plates changed and the receipt was in the car so I don't know the plates until the cops can tell me.
If seen, please holler! Fred Emmerich 214-908-0506 |

Maybe you will spot it at the local news as a gateway car, sorry to hear this, that sucks!

Not having a plate number means I can help much - I spend two days a week in a really bad part of Houston, too, so post the number right away and I'll jot it down. A lot of cars stolen in Dallas end up here and vice versa.

I almost can't believe it. That sucks totally. Sorry that happened and hope you get it back. Its also scary that someone broke in to get it. Its always creepy when you realize after the fact that someone has been casing you or knows what you have.

The cops say it is all very weird, it is not the type of car to be stolen. They snagged an air compressor and battery charge and my nice Fluke meter, but left a ton of stuff in the garage they could have taken. I am hoping they don't come back for round 2.

When I lived in Alaska my neighbor, who shared a garage with me, had a garage sale. The next day when we all went to work some scumbag came back and cleaned our tools out. I mean everything and we had a woodworking shop as well as a good set of general pupose mechanical tools there. Drill press, saws, welders and so on.
Garage sales attract these guys. I have never had one since, and right now I have a 12 cubic yard dumpster being filled with 20 years of junk (remarkable how much of that stuff was collected by my wife at garage sales in the area). Anyway, I hope you get your classic car back. They were on top of the heap in their day and are still astounding cars. Good luck, Jim

Very few people know about the car and I have no enemies that I know of. My neighbors have never seen it and I can't tell if they were after the car or just took it as an opportunity when the got in the garage. If they took it last week I would have saved $400 on suspension work.

Ask yourself a question: Who do you know who could disassemble the car and sell it for parts?
Also, were the keys in it? If the keys were in it, they took it for a joy ride and it could be anyone, if not someone really wanted the car. |

I know only one guy who knows where I live but he is my mechanic. He would be eliminating his business!

consider
the place that did the suspension work (assuming you took it somewhere).... your regular place/ mechanic? A car, a work order with address, a stray key on a price tag ID tag..... paranoia is sometimes justified. Who wants a 25 year old car? Someone who knows what it is- that makes him/her/them a knowlegable person, not to mention a total bastard. Good luck

The garage is not attached. I have informed the insurance but I don't look forward to dealing with them. It was a standard policy.
