I would say that car is far from totaled ,the only way to total a 300SL is to put it through a car chipper............

I was reading the original thread and it said that the insurance company would be paying for repairs. To the tune of $190,000 or something.

Thats rough livin'...I woke up today at 5 AM to the tune of loud banging. Being in a haze, I fell back to sleep, wondering what the noise was but not caring enough to actually revel...

Woke up again at 6:30, did the AM routine and hit the road. On the way out of my hood, I see a car wreck being cleaned up a block away. No big deal, but still a low speed head-on b/t a Honda and what looked like a Mazda. No apparent injuries.

I keep going, and see a huge, ancient tree that was bent over in the last nights storm. It was laying over a car in a driveway, and I mean the whole thing.

Coming home tonight from study, and I see the tree is gone. Instead there's a completely smashed MB C class, at least that's what it looked like. Totally smashed like it was rolled several times. Anyway, it sucks what the lady throws at you.

I won't waste time with personal stories of "classic" cars being wrecked in to. A car like that pictured has astronomical value comparable to my "toy" car experiences.
