I think I need a shave

I've been living for about a decade in Holland. For the first time ever I got stopped in the street to be asked "where are the ladies"?

I knew exactly what the old bloke in the flasher mac meant...

...he then asked about prices - I explained that I was not privy to that information.

I must have been looking pretty grotty today!

Walking back from school after picking up my daughters I saw him again - to which I said "cor that was quick!" My assumption was wrong, apparently the ladies have been moved on and the little houses with many door like windows have been boarded up.

I used to live pretty close as a kid to a street with window candy. Strange man in German cars would ask us the exact same question. Just like we did with any other German who asked for directions we would tell them: Immer gerade aus!

Joke.

I'm afraid I'm having a hard time understanding the tie in between the thread title and the thread content - Ignorant foreigner that I no doubt am.

I highly doubt your porn-stache is as long as mine...no need for a shave just yet.

I was assuming that had I been cleanly shaved (on the face) wearing my bow tie looking like I was on my way to church (like he who should not be overly encouraged on this forum!) I would not have been considered to be the ideal person to ask the way to the "ladies" - much like say a little old lady or a child...

...however based on the information in post #2 perhaps moral sensibilities aren't the order of the day.

I had a look on the interweb last night to see what had happened to the little houses with many glass doors and found out that they have been shut down for years because the owner couldn't provide proof that the ladies were here in the country legally. It looks like since then they have had a hard time trying to get replacement legal mules.

I had a job as a bus boy at a hotel/motel restaurant in me boyhood home, Roswell, NM. I was 15, also did room service deliveries. One early evening I took a small order to a room. A car was parked awkwardly out front, the poor dweeby looking guy was sprawled out on his bed, seemed pretty drunk. He pulled himself up and asked if I was familiar with female companionship. I hemmed and hawed, 'well, I have some idea about it . . .'

He says: 'I suggest you ask you captain about female companionship.' He mentioned a name for reference.

I went back and told the boss who happened to be in the restaurant with his wife, I mentioned the name the guy had given and they looked at each other quizzically, she said, surely he wouldn't say that, I said, no that's not who he is, he gave that name as a reference. A little later I saw the boss in earnest and displeased conversation with the guy in the hallway.

I suspect it was something like, 'You idiot, what are doing asking a 15 year old boy about that stuff? You want to get us busted?!'

Joke.
The joke they translate there is pretty funny, the one about drinking out a canal. They reference but don't get into the 'Immer gerade aus' joke which is apparently famous. I can't find it on the web. It is really long or could you maybe tell it to us?

At least a friend didn't say this to ya. I got called John Holmes by a jack*** friend for having an 80s stache. I switched to a goatee a couple of days later lol.

I thought ya meant escorts. I'd tell ya have him check backpage.com (worldwide reliability )
