Installed a set of Euro lamps this weekend. One fog lamp comes on;the other doesn't. Have checked leads into fog lamp and bulbs and both seem ok (have switched bulbs just to make sure. no dice!). Had to use new connectors for Euro's and pins seem in proper place and tight too.
ANY suggestons would be appreciated. Thanks! Ivan White 1989 300E |

Just by chance...
did you check the operation of all lamps before you proceeded to install the Euro lights? The problem you are chasing may have been there previously. You obviously know the proper pin locations so check the fog pin for voltage and proceed forward to the light or back to the source depending on what your DVM tells you. Also check the fog bulb socket for a good contact.

...there should be some ground wires inside the light unit...is your not-illuminated fog light grounded or did that wire come off???
...just a thought... greetingz,

Good replies! Found out it was a bad bulb; despite the filament looking just fine! Also tightened up the pin connectors by squeezing them together. A continuity tester said I had power all thw way to the bulb. A new 100W H3 and there is now light!
Thanks for the tips! |

Bulbs are like fuses, you can determine that it is bad by looking at it, but you can't determine if it's good by looking at it. Keep an ohmmeter handy.
Good luck, |
