new pics and video

Here are some new pictures and video from this past weekend. The poster of the video did some editing to remove my identity and license plate number because some of my testing was on public roads. Enjoy:

that is some very basic editing.

i must say im dissapointed in the editing job. but the, COOOOOL.

the only think i dislike about he crossfire is the interior. everything feels cheap. but with that engine, i think i could over look that.

i would love to do an engine swap myself. the E320CDI into a 1991 190D

Cheap? Maybe but it is all standard Mercedes parts and almost exactly the same as the R170 SLK.

I'm thinking either the 1999 turbodiesel or the newer BluTec turbodiesel in a W124 wagon . . .

Nice Job. The exhaust sounds very Ferrari-ish. Good luck and enjoy it.

The hardest thing about doing a Mercedes swap is the electronics. The approach I took really requires using engines that use the same type of ECU as the car you want to put it in. For example, My Crossfire used a Bosch ME2.8 and so did the CL500 that my donor engine came from. Most of the 113 type V8's used the ME2.8 but some of the early ones such as the 430 used the ME2.0. I would find out what ECU you have in your car and then see what engines used the same ECU and pick from those. I guess anything can be done but unlocking an ECU and then using STAR DAS in developer mode to code the ECU to your car works and not that hrard to do.
