It would be a good time to replace the orings on the pipes that feed coolant to the turbos. I just did a pair to the tune of 10 hrs labor. Helluva lot easier with the engine out, Im sure.

Looks VERY accessible with engine out. I'm just verifying that I should do the seals on both sets of lines (top and bottom) that attach to the rusty looking part of the turbo.

I've only ever seen them leak coolant on the top. Considering how impossible it would be to get to the bottom with the engine installed it may be worth it to do all of them if only for peace of mind. I've never done the oil feed seal as they don't seem to leak (yet anyways) but one bolt holds both lines so.......

Totally stock. You barely hear a thing inside the cabin.

Being inside the garage, with the back in, helped with the growl.

So here's the breakdown:

$4500 Complete car with melted Engine
$4500 Complete engine with all accessories and attached computers.
$1550 Labor to install

$11550: That's what it cost to hear it run, and to really asses the car. Attempting to fill the cooling system was pointless. The radiator had a huge hole in it and a patch was attempted at some point ?$?$?$?WTF?!!! which led to the catastrophic event ruining the original engine. Yes a radiator patch on a car that cost $145,000 new.

$560.00 later I had a car that held coolant for a test drive.

The drive showed the AC performance was sub par when the vehicle was not in motion and temps could creep up a little high. Auxiliary cooling fan barely working $375.00. Also needed a new battery $200 and a left lower control arm. $300.00. Car has three good tires so I only needed a single tire due to uneven tire wear from bad ball joint in control arm $100. Don't forget the $80 oil change too.

$13165 now, and mechanically its nicely sorted, but we need to move on to cosmetics.

I was not told that the windshield was cracked. Wasn't told about the radiator patch either along with many other things like a coil pack was destroyed being removed by someone who didn't know what they were doing. The S600 has a night vision sensor camera and rain sensor molded into the windshield along with being polarized/tinted some how. I found a windshield shop that had an OEM windshield to install for $1400. The car has a cracked fog lamp assembly $85.00, and cracked front bumper $250, along with a gash in the hood that will require a respray $200. It's also missing one door molding $100, needs about $200 in PDR, wheel scratches repaired $180, and a very very good detail $125

That would put me at $15705 into the car with it looking and driving as new. I'm lucky to have most of my cheap parts and repair resources available to me from my previous life as a used car dealer to accomplish this cheaply enough. Hope I get somewhat of a honeymoon with it.

Click thumbnail to see me giving it the beans.
