It is an LSD, the numbers on the unit are R126 351 0308, the guy I got it from said that it would fit my 300sd. But, I never got around to it.

Nice Write-up!

I was thinking about this myself for my 300SD. I would bet that if we had the schematics on the speedo, the timing circuit could be changed (resistor or cap) to correct the speed. Input?

115k runs great, daily driver. Now I'm not saying that everything works, but the important things do. I just bought it a couple of months ago, I feel as it earns it's keep things will get fixed.
