No key for a 1975 300D

I have a 1975 300D 115 without key in very decent shape for year . It does not have a key. The ignition tumbler has a lock ring around it . Anyone have any ifo on these tumbler with lock ring.

Temp gauge pegged out after having dash out

Removed dash to change out gears on odometer. no problem there. installed and took out for test. all was working well and after driving for 3 tenths of a mile the temp gauge a fuel gauge pegged out....

The 1990 300d when cranking I do not have a glowplug light. After it cranks glowplug light stays on for a couple of minutes after car has cranked. or maybe a little longer. What is going on.
