I would use and ice pick if he objects then he is hiding something if its all metal ice pick won't go through by gently pushing on floor boards. ice pick shows all the soft spots, quickly.

start with rt rear/ left rear/ rt front/ left front/ if you don't have a preasure bleeder use the next best thing a person in drivers seat pumping brakes keep master cyl full of fluid the whole time...

now lets see if the bolt is broken off flush you will have to drill it out first to use and easy out i prefer snapon the square ones and i have broken them off too so be careful don't buy the cheap...

common sense goes a long way too, he was only talking about and oil pan bolt not a head bolt or any other bolts it works for those bolts also i have drilled out many bolts, just gave the guy and idea...

im sorry but im and old master mechanic and i never torqued down an oil pan bolt, do it by hand snug it up untill it stops don't just keep turning its something you get the feel for/

go to napa auto parts pick up three fifty pound bags of oil dry pour on to your stains. pour all of it and put some hard soul work shoes on and start grinding it into the concrete don't sweep it up...

I would say it is pretty much normal, if it was oil , you would see it injectors too would be smokey, the exhaust system is full of soot that s why they never rust out on a diesels just fall apart...

it can be done I have done it myself, chain will extend almost to the block and it will not look right, that was my clue when you look down from the top it rides to far to the front on the chain...
