Although it may sound overly cautious, as Manny said, unbolt the fill plug first to make absolutely sure that after you drain the diff that you can fill it.:)

I traced all the vacuum lines in the engine...

I traced all the vacuum lines in the engine compartment and found one line going to the fuel pressure controller leaking. I replaced the line but that did not fix it. I thought for sure that was it....
