Well visually the second hand turbo is rusty on the outside. As for performance, it seems to be ok. On accellerating the uptake is more sluggish than before and for some reason the engine sounds...

Can an old second hand Turbo affect performance...?

I've just replaced my faulty turbo with a secondhand one from an accident damaged car but am feeling that there is an issue with performance.. any thoughts? (E220CDI-2001)

Finally popped the (now minus the pre-cat) exhaust back and was annoyed to find exhaust gasses still coming out from under the turbo. Due to its location I can't tell if it's due to back-pressure...

Not that mine has a cat but can I use WVO in this car?? Also, for experimentaions sake, if I managed to get WVO, filtered it and popped some straight into the fuel tank as approx a 20% mixture would...

My E220cdi (2001) is stuck in Limp Mode. The fault that caused it has been rectified and I was wondering if I can "DIY" and reset the fault codes?

I would suspect a sensor that detects what gear you are in is malfunctioning...Uk spec cars generally have a microswitch that senses when the gearstick is in P and also another that senses for N. ...

I'm going to be broke till 2007...

LOL - Finally took matters in my own hands....took the whole exhaust system off and ran the car...NO HISSING and the car revs freely...removed the top section of the exhaust and could hear the cat...
