With oil topped off, the gauge reads closer to the "2" at idle or at the stoplight. At highway speed it is always pegged all the way. Thanks for asking.

Sorry let me clarify, it wasn't totally empty but there was only less than a quart of oil remaining when i went to change it. Amazing that the engine still runs as strong as it does.

Thanks I will do this tomorrow. Now to figure out why the temp gauge isn't cooperating. Possibly the temp sending unit is bad and the auxillary fan is not coming on also.

An addendum to the electrical issues, problem solved.

Just wanted to post an update regarding all the electrical issues I was having. The two frayed wires I found, had to have been the cause of the battery drain. It will be 1 week short of 2 months...
