Hate to do this, but have to.

Non-turbo. Nice and straight, surface rust only, suspension is good and solid, exhaust good, tires good, paint is faded, sunroof works and leaks a bit, bumpers...

Thanks for all the feedback -- I've had it looked at by two mechanics and they've both agreed it was the rear main seal -- sure wish they were wrong...

So now I'm using 20w50 to keep the leak...

Apparently have a bad rear main seal leak on my 79 300td --

After it sits over night or just sitting after driving it -- it will leave a 5-6" diameter puddle...

With the engine completely...

OK -- I don't know if this has been done before here, but thought I'd do a quick survey to see what was/is the coldest temp (Fahrenheit) they've been able to start --- WITHOUT a block heater, etc....

Never knew that is where it drained either -- i used a welding rod for the front drains and taped the tip with tape to avoid chewing something up...i've got some rust starting at that back drain area...
