Hi,

Believe a 1974. The numbers on the heads and cams should state their application. Hope this helps.

Hi, FYI, just put Ignitor I (kit 1885) on my 75 450sl. Did NOT change coil. Had to extend the Ignitor red & black wires 12". Hooked them up per "CTAYLOR738"s instructions which were bang on.......

Hi again,

The aux fan I rewired will work with both the auto switch and the manual toggle. Also it is on my 75 450sl whch runs HOT in the summer. Hope this clears things up.....

Just a tidbit. My aux fan wouldn't come on either; so I wired the fan to a toggle switch on the dash so I can turn it on whenever needed. When engine temp gets high I simply flip the switch...

fuel smell / leaks

Hi, Had fuel smell in my 75sl. Turned out to be fuel regulator putting out too much pressure at fuel rails thus producing leaks. Hope this helps.

Just a tid bit. Petronix told me that kit Petronix Ignitor 1 kit #1885 would work with my 75 450sl. Haven't got the kit yet... The phone I have for them is 860-542-5753.

Guys,

Debating Ignitor I for my 75 450sl. Have a new Bosh "super coil" that has 4 ohom internal resistance. Is this coil ok to use with the Ignitor I? I put the new coil in because the old one...

Hi,

Also have 75 450sl. Maybe want to check for "old fuel". It may be "varnished" and blocking filter, lines, injectors, etc. Take a wiff at the fuel tank fill nozzle and go from there.

75 450 coil replacement

Thanks for the info. The newer coil is blue like the origional and the ohm readings are the same for both coils.

Will check ohms again and try it one more time.
