This is old, but for posterity's sake, I should point out that the issue of the variable length manifold in the NA, which give it it's gas saving and high revving powers, has been overlooked in this...

Injector line leaks after removed for o-ring replacement

After replacing my O-rings, I put the hard lines back in place and tightened down. One of them leaks rather noticeably now, and can be embarrassing at parties and receptions. So I thought it best...

Which (or what size) Viton O-ring for om606 delivery valve?

Mine are leaking rather profusely--about a gallon in the drip pan over the course of a week without use (car is pointing downhill, so...)

Anyway, can someone point me to the right O-ring size, or...

Which tool to remove hardware at top of om606 injection pump?

Hi all,

The catalog seems to indicate that both of these will enable me to get to those seals that (apparently quite often if not always) leak atop the injection pump. Am I reading that right? ...

Well, I suppose pretty much any part of the process. Top end, bottom ... any guidance at all. I'm looking to buy a long block and rebuild it from top to bottom.

Write-up or chronicle on OM602

Has anyone seen a write-up and/or pictorial on this? Did a search but got a sea of off-target results.

So if I can extricate those parts and--with luck--get vacuum again at the inlet (is it safe to test with the check valve removed?), then I just get a new check valve (and now, vacuum hose) and...

I'm not sure the part is original...looked very new. I was just ham-handed I guess, when removing the rubber hose end from the metering valve.

Anyway, this is my check valve. Do I even want to...

Was thinking the same thing, but figured maybe some clever folks had figured out a way to make something easier, or perhaps the nipples less fragile. Can't imagine why else the OEM would be cheaper.

Thanks--very helpful info.

Do I use heat to extricate the plastic hose from the brake booster? Also, any idea what the name of that hose and metering valve assembly is, or whether it's available...

Started it up again after cooling it off, and still the nipple coming out of the metering valve, just 18 or so inches up from the pump, produced no detectable vacuum whatsover. I have to imagine...

No vacuum?

At long last, after many years of near misses, I've landed a deal on my first diesel Benz--a 1984 300CD with 106k miles. It is a mostly impressive running car (that pulls like no other OM617 I've...

The majority of the posts I've found (here and elsewhere) come from U.S. model owners, 1995-1996--which is all I have to choose from if I want a N/A OM606. So I have to conclude that there is an...

Looking at your signature, perhaps I shouldn't say. But, well, turns out some folks have noticed roughness at idle (among other symptoms) only to discover that their #6 inlet valve seat had sunken...

Any prevention for the OM606 valve seat recession issue?

I've found a 95 N/A that I'm interested in, but have some reservations about this motor given the talk about the (#6?) inlet valve recession issue. I'm looking for one of those 400-600k experiences...
