Thanks for your concern, but the passenger side rear spring was seperated by 1/4" where it was broken. I didn't see a break in the driver side, but it could be broken as well. I suspect it is not...

similar experience on a Ford F250 IDI diesel

Sounds to me like you are getting air into the fuel lines. When my ford started loosing fuel lines, it would rev just before the stall.

Just my 2 cents.

If I remember the wiring diagaram, only the passenger side controls the washer fluid flow for both of the headlight washers. I have never dissected the driver side but I would almost bet it works...

Blow by to me is when the rings get weak (or cylinder taper to large) that the exhaust gases can escape past the rings. It causes more positive pressure inside the engine than what the PCV system...
