There's a manual tranny at steel head in goleta with low miles. In a white 79 240D. Its the one missing the diff.

Its seems intimidating to pull that motor out. But its not bad. One step at a time. Label everything. With practice it only takes a couple hours.

Going in, slightly more difficult. But not bad.

Sounds like a control arm bushing. Ball joint. Or tie rod. Ok that didnt narrow it down.
