How long overdue is the ignition system for maintenance? Plugs, cap, & rotor should be replaced ~30k miles and wires, leads, & coil should be replaced every 100k miles (I think this is the interval)....

SL stuff should fit, the 129 is based on the 124 just shorter. The difference looks like in the way they are put together, so parts may not be able to be mixed and matched just a whole assembly swap.

If the sound changes with blipping the throttle the catalyst material in the rear converters is broken. The proper fix is to replace whichever pipe is causing the noise.
