Red line for the Diesel engines is determined by the injection pump (IP). You can't over rev them unless the IP is altered or the bearings are worn out and have too much clearance.

I never had any of my Diesels up to a hundred but...

I never had any of my Diesels up to a hundred but my 300SEL 6.3 was doing 135 passing a GTO that was trying to run away from me. You should have seen the look on that guy's face when I waved good bye...
