Seat covers 280SEL

Removed leather but choose MBTEX because it will not crack. Cost $359. for the front seats and headrest. $359 for the complete back seat and arm rest. Backrest pads and cushions would be extra.

Did the installation myself. Covers fit like a glove.

First time to post photo's

My pleasure.

The car is beautiful. The seats are beautiful...
and so is the dash!

That was a great $700 investment.
That thing looks like a $10K + car now.

What would the price have been for all leather?
Does that Kush13 place have a website?

No web site. Email or call John 818-766-9511 for price. He will supply samples. Mention that you saw my photo's.
If I recall correctly it would have been around $1300. for leather.

The high quote was $2751. for leather and $1417. for MBTEX.

Several of my request for quote wound up at John's place because he does the work for many of them.

Hope this helps those interested.

What exactly do you mean by backrest pads and cushions?
Is that the horsehair stuff under the covers?

As sexy as leather is, I'd probably stick with the MBTex, for most vehicles, based on the great price.
I'm thinking in terms of reselling a vehicle.

Throw those and some fresh carpeting in an old Benz and it will look like it's been to Gabe's !

That is correct. It is the rubberized horsehair padding under the covers. Backrest=$110. front seat and the front seat cushion=$85.00.

I'm thinking of an SL for my next purchase...
so I guess I could do the 'whole car' for about $400 ?

That is an appealing thought.

Thanks for the info.
There's not a lot of activity in this 'detailing' forum
but I'm sure some people will take advantage of this source,
over the months to come.

I think I would rather replace my Mercedes tex seats with the 2000+ BMY or Lexus seats. I would do both. I am planning on keeping this car forever so I don't mind not keeping it 100% original, although I will keep the original interior which is pretty much flawless. I will be doing it this summer and will post pics when I am done. I may just get rid of the MB-TEX and go with a whole new leather interior from another 1995 so as to keep it 100% Benz. I am open to ideas but I have decided that I will not keep the TEX.
