Question Looking for very good book for Euro SLC model !!

Hello !

I have a 1978 450 SLC MB Euro model, all complete, including cruise control, A/C, Automatic, etc. and I´m looking for any sugestion about what is the best book for the 1971 until 1980 Mercedes Benz SLC detailed Euro Models !!
I need portfolio , repair and parts information published on this book or more than one book .

I will apreciate all your sugestions !!

My 1978 450 SLC MB are showed in a cruise control HELP subject posted on this site.....

Hi Mcarboni

The most complete workshop books including the SLC , 3.8 AND 5.0 engines are published by Mercedes-Benz of North America, Inc. One Mercedes Drive, Montvale, NJ 07645. It comprises three volumes: 1. Service Manual V-8 engine M116 & 117, 2. Volume 1 Service Manual Chassis and Body series 107 - and - 3. Volume 2 Service Manual Chassis and Body series 107. The books numbers are s-6510-1930-13. The best investment you can make in workshop manuals!. Regards

are the workshop books the same as on the CD for the 107 chassis OR are they in more depth?

The books cover far more details than CD and step by step assembly, diagnostics and tests. parts number, electric, fuel, vacum diagrams, and working processes.

The publishers details are in my response above. Mercedes-Benz of North America, but could not find website. Try www.motorbooks.com or write a note to address provided above. These Service Manuals were published in 1987 but still obtainable in UK.

Price of This indicated book

My friend in Torance - California told me that this book you indicated to me, is a original parts and maintenance Mercedes Benz manual, and realy, are best than CDRom, but the price...... US$ 450 for all, or US$ 150,00 each one....

Marcos,

If you are going to keep the car for some time and maintain it yourself, then these manuals are the best investment you can make. It will save you '$000s in the long run, and if you sell the car there will be many owners whou would be happy to buy them from you!
