Open Forum

Howdy All,
Since the Open forum is closed and the Unimog forum doesn't have much content and I don't post in other forums but about twice a year I guess I will not be hanging around. It's been fun and I've met some wonderful people. Maybe something will happen and we get our open forum back. Until then, Bye.

Gotta say I came here for one reason only,,, to get more info on Benzes. It has served me wonderfully in that respect and saved me literally thousands of dollars. I was probably on this forum for 2 months before I even looked at the open discussion site. Won't miss it a bit, but can understand the angst some people are going through. I just hope it can survive and prosper for it's originial intent.

Deleting OD was a necessary step for that purpose. The contributors will stay and many will return. The troublemakers will just go away.

CApn seems to think OD was the only forum we participated in.

You could have elected to not participate if you thought it was a waste of bandwith, insulting, boring, redundant,etc......Much like what I do on the diesel discussion where the same question gets asked and answered ad nauseum.

I usually ignore any threads that start off " 300 v SDL or what is a glow plug, how often do I change my air filter, etc....I don't complain to the moderators about it.

Anyone that had issues with the OD could have done the same.

This forum was and is still great for the technical issues, yet all the personality was in the OD.

There were some personal attacks that were uncalled for but hey, we're all grown ups and no one should take anything personal when you can't see the person.

I gotta go check out the Diesel discussion for some disel purge info. I really didn't get the answer I was looking for after searching thru the 1759 posts.......
