Email notification for thread I've never posted to

I received an email notice for a post to a thread I have never posted to, or 'subscribed' to.

This is the thread with the post that matches the member's post quoted in the email. I'm not part of this thread. I found it by searching on the members posts.

W126 front brake caliper repair questions

Here is the message that has just been posted:
***************
So, naturally when I pulled the front right wheel off, I noticed how think my brake pad is......hmmm....maybe the brake pad wear indicator was right. So, I've never done brakes....and I'm prying with a screwdriver to get the pad to retract, but I'm prying between the pad and caliper. And the think metal part of the caliper comes off.

Do I need to replace the caliper or will the caliper repair kit be enough? When I pryed on the other side, the caliper did release and I got the old pad out.

HELP!!!! This is my first brake pad replacement."

Only part of the text is quoted, and some of it differs from the text in the actual thread, perhaps due to the members subsequent editing.

This is the thread that the email references http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showthread.php?p=1253229#post1253229

How is this possible?
