Sigh.

Those white ones are really slick.

1983 280SL 5 speed. I would prefer the KMs on the outside.

Can you PM me a ballpark figure so I can think about how big of a purse I need to steal?

A while back, I started a small project for making gauge face kits for the R107 line of SL class Mercedes-Benz cars. I never pursued this line further as I got busy with other things.

I was wondering if there would be any interest in a line of gauge face kits for these cars. I have a lot of free time now-a-days and would like to expand my hobby.

Below are some pictures that were taken a while back and a guide for the templates I have. While I wait to see if any interest is present for these items, I am looking to expand my template collection. If you have an R107 SL cluster that is in good physical and functional shape, and it has faces that are not present in the images below, I am interested in purchasing that cluster from you.

If you may be interested in a set for your R107 SL please PM me and I will put you on a list of people to contact in the near future.

Thank you and have a great evening.

For reasons passing understanding, the PM didn't work. Count me in. If you do gauge faces, I'd like to talk to you about a couple others, as well.

3547-fl,
PM has been received, read, and responded to. Thank You.

strelnik,
I double checked to ensure my PM boxes were not full, but deleted some old messages to be sure. Maybe Pelican Parts was doing some website maintenance at the time.

My contact information has been PMed to you. Thank You.

rowdie,
Thank you for your assistance.

Thanks for the PM, still deciding on the white or that off white/ tan color might give a bit of a vintage look.

I like the face...it will match the body color of your AMG.

I'm not sure I like the needle color...seems a bit dark to me. If I get the faces, I may do my needles in aluminum. Have you had it in the car illuminated yet?

I see what you're saying about the orange needles...but something's missing and I can't put my finger on it.

Speedometer in 450sl American type

Hey, my speedometer goes to 85 only. Have any templates been considered for that limit?

I certainly would like to create a template for the 85MPH speedometer. The difficulty lies with finding a cluster to use to create a template from. If your SL is not your daily driver, please consider sending your cluster to me for this purpose. In return for your effort, I will install a set of gauge faces of your specification, paint the needles to a color of your choice and give the cluster a through cleaning.

Please email me (preferred) or PM me if you would like to talk about the details some more. (click on my forum name for email and PM options)
